Calvern (Cash) Franklin Jackson Green Jr.
(Challenger)
Virginia Beach Code - 7
Biography:

Thank you for considering my candidacy for City Council District 7 in November 2024.

Virginia Beach is not just a place on the map for me; it is my home. I am happily married to my
sensational wife, Kenika, and together we have five children and two granddaughters.

Kenika, a long-term resident of Virginia Beach and a graduate of Tallwood High School, has
dedicated her career to the mental health field, advocating for those with chronic health issues.
She is also a small business owner and mentor, and as a family, we have volunteered for
numerous local and national agencies.

My family's success in Virginia Beach is a testament to the community's support. Three of my
children graduated from Virginia Beach Public Schools, with two serving in the military. My
other two adult children reside in California.

My passion for community service began in childhood, where I learned the power of serving
others. This drive and perseverance led me to excel academically and athletically. Raised by a
military army veteran father and a Nurses' Assistant mother, we moved frequently, teaching me
adaptability and the importance of forging new connections.

My interest in government was ignited by watching leaders like General Colin Powell and
Condoleezza Rice. This inspired me to study the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, shaping my
values around the free enterprise system, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, constitutional
adherence, and military honor.

Grounded in faith, I graduated from Seminary with a certificate in Theology, but have always
been a working man.

I believe that true leadership is about representing others, not seeking personal glory. My goal
is to serve you, the residents of our district, by listening to your needs and advocating for your
interests. I don't seek titles; I seek to fulfill the responsibilities of the job.

City Council decisions often lack genuine input from residents, affecting critical areas such as
public safety, taxes, quality of living, parks and infrastructure, and access to mental health
services. Before casting my vote, I will seek your input, aiming to understand your preferences
and be accountable for my decisions.

My qualifications for City Council include:
- Experience in church governance, emphasizing communication and community building.
- Proficiency in process-driven environments from the oil and gas industry.
- Over 8 years of experience in numerical analysis in the automotive industry,
demonstrating a solid understanding of financial matters.
My motivation to run for office stems from valuable insights gained from my customers and my
involvement with various organizations focused on community betterment,
including:

- The VB Library Board
- The 200 Plus Men organization
- The Hampton Roads Area Command- Salvation Army
- VFW Auxiliary Post #392
- Fraternal Organization #220
- Process Improvement Steering Committee
- VB Rotary Club
- VB Police Foundation
- Alumnus of the VB Citizens Police Academy

In closing, I am deeply committed to serving the residents of District 7 with accountability,
compassion, and transparency. I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences to address the
important issues facing our city and work collaboratively towards a brighter future for all.

Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Cal F "Cash" Jackson-Green Jr.
